Iron Fist’s “Distant Memory”: How Did I Get This for Free?

On February, I bought a pair of Iron Fist Lovelace Wedges and posted a review about it here. I was really pleased with the wedges, however the price was a bit too expensive; €99 for the pair, bought from Amazon via MIKfunshopping*. It was kind of an unfair price for the wedges and the quality, but I sucked it up and didn’t return it (because they’re just so damn cute!). However, being a bitch that I am, I just had to rant about it on my blog.

A few months later, the great Travis Anderson, owner of the Iron Fist Clothing Brand ACTUALLY read my rant and offered his apology. Apparently, they have some problems with the pricing in Europe. Which is very true indeed, because if you check Amazon.de or Amazon.co.uk, it’s quite hard to get any Iron Fist items for an affordable price. Here’s what he wrote on the comment:

Hi Marka, I’m really sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience with our product. My name is Travis and I’m the owner of Iron Fist. We have made some big changes to our European distribution in order to get the pricing corrected. Those shoes should never have cost you 99 Euro. I would like to offer you a free pair of Iron Fist shoes to make up for your experience and to show you our commitment to our product. You can contact me on my email address to discus further. Kind regards
Travis

Okay. First of all, he thought that my name was Marka. Uhh, “märkä” actually means ‘wet’ in Finnish. That’s the signature I usually put in the bottom of my post. Wet kisses for y’all LOL. Anyway, enough of that. So you read what he wrote up there. I was seriously impressed. Like, really, really impressed. I’m just a random blogger, ranting about how expensive I had to pay for the shoes because I’m constantly broke and posting a short review about it. Then Travis came, explained the situation about their distributing problems in Europe, and trying to cheer me up, by offering me a free pair of Iron Fist shoes. His commitment to his brand was the thing that really impress me the most. omgomgomgfreeshoesFREESHOESlol

I was afraid that it was a spam though. It was too good to be true, for me. Like I said, I’m just a random blogger. A blogger who treats her shoes like her lovers, and constantly flirting with them.  I felt like I didn’t deserve this after ranting about it on my blog. I mean; a pair of ANY model that I want? I was also suspicious if this was some kind of  a scam. But after cross-checking everything via Google, I sent an email to Travis, and here’s what I got a couple of weeks later:

Iron Fist Distant Memory Wedge; 15 CM/5,9 Inches

Iron Fist Distant Memory Wedges; 15 CM/5,9 Inches. Front Platform 4 CM/1,5 Inches

Iron Fist’s Distant Memory Wedges has actually been in my wishlist for weeks. When I saw these on The Fist Shop**, I knew I just had to buy it. I knew that this pair is destined to be my Favorite White Summer Shoes. However, the price in The Fist Shop was €129.99. That’s seriously a huge amount of money. Meanwhile the price they had on International Iron Fist Clothing webpage was US$60, unfortunately at that time the webpage didn’t offer any shipping to Germany. So all I could do was sighing longingly at my screen…

… until Travis and Chris Frara from IFC asked me which shoes that I wanted. I told them that I wish to have the Distant Memory Wedges. Then it’s posted on the next day. My God, is it really okay to be this happy?

Iron Fist Nail Stickers “Lounge Leopard”

I actually didn’t know that Iron Fist* also has a line of Nail Stickers. I realized it when I checked their international website for their 70% Sale (which is still ongoing, btw), and I decided to buy 2 of them. One of the sticker is from their Lounge Leopard series, which I’m using here on the picture. The other one is from their “Lovelace”** series. Boy was I happy when I found it! Nail sticker that fits my shoes! I’m officially the happiest girl in the galaxy…

… until I tried to put the nail stickers on. I was so, so terrible at it. The direction said to smooth it over your fingernail, but as you can see on my thumbnail, the sticker got wrinkled. It wasn’t so bad on other nails, but I have to be EXTRA careful when putting this on. I have never tried using nail stickers before, since when it comes to nail art, I’m more of a fan of plain nail polish swatches.

But after I was done with it, my nails look amazing. Oh, and did you know that Iron Fist also incorporate their “Lounge Leopard” print to their “Lolita Love” wallet? Check this out:

Iron Fist Lounge Leopard Nails & Lolita Love Wallet

Iron Fist Lounge Leopard Nails & Lolita Love Wallet

Aren’t they a combination of beauty? I love them so much! I got the wallet from Swerve Streetwear***, an online shopping website based in Ireland. It was quite a pain to find this wallet on sale, seems like this is an old model or something. I got it for €45 including shipping. I don’t know if I can really recommend the website for shopping. They said they’ll send me the tracking number soon, but I didn’t get any. Also, when I received my order, the packaging wasn’t good at all. The wallet is just shipped inside a thin box, without a protecting cover at all. When I got the wallet, the back leather is already wrinkled and colors are fading. But I accepted it, since I’m madly in love with this wallet and I can’t find it anywhere else close to where I live.

Anyway, my overall opinion for this Iron Fist Lounge Leopard Nail Sticker… well they’re quite a pain to apply (which is mostly my problem), but they look sexy as hell. However, the stickers peel off quite easily. It only took 2 days, and they’re already chipping. Even though I put quite a thick layer of finishing coat. For a night of partying, this is an awesome, quick nail-do for you. But for a longer term, I’d suggest putting on UV gel for coating, which is actually my next plan for my other Iron Fist Nail Stickers. I’ll probably apply them on a set of fake nails too, so I could reuse them again and again, and looking fancy as fuck whenever I wear my Lovelace Wedges.

My husband caught a cold, so…

Another day of my vacation in Finland, but I didn’t do anything remotely Finnish. Not going to sauna. Not exploring the forests. I did eat some berries, but I didn’t do any picking. What I mostly did is struggling with the new theme for my blog so my day didn’t really go to waste. Oh, and taking this very fancy picture:

Soft grass and pretty toes

That’s taken on my parents-in-law building site for the new house. The lovely 90 square meters 2-story house is located right by the sea, with HUGE yards and just beside a small forest. Perfect for my nature-loving in-laws, not so nice for me because I can’t take my heels. But then again, walking barefoot under the sun, on soft grass is quite something. And my self-pedicure is just so, so lovely.

For your information, that’s ESSENCE nail polish, from their Show Your Feet line. The thing only costed me €1.65, and as they claimed, actually last quite long. It’s been a week now since I did this, and my toes still look like they’re freshly pedicured.  The color might be a bit too vibrant for my skin tone, as they’re a bit pale right now, but as a stand alone color, they’re fantastic. The color in the bottle is actually mint green, but when painted on your nails, they’re actually dark turquoise.

Anyway, speaking of colors, I decided to change the background and avatar picture in this blog. I just recently lost my only pair of glasses, and reading on a dark screen is such a pain. So I did myself a favor and changed the blog to a brighter theme. MONSTERS AND CANDIES! Aren’t they cute? :D

2nd Wedding Anniversary

His Gift: Billy Talent Tickets & Lindt

So this is our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. As far as of now, we’ve been married for 2 years, and together for 5 years 8 months. WOOHOO!

I’d have lied if I say that I “never” regret my marriage. Hey, we all have that down moment in a relationship that we regretted. But I am proud to say that all those “regrets” that I have in doing this marriage are puny and small compared to the happiness and love we share.

I am married to a guy who loves me, respects my opinion, helps me clean up the house, gives me a kiss after eating something I made, bites or nudge my nose when he thinks I’m being cute, makes me hot water compress when I’m sick AND a guy who cleans up my vomit when I was down with flu.

To top it all, this guy bought me a ticket to watch Billy Talent in Luxembourg. Even though the only thing he knows about this band is that I love it ever since High School.

I love you, Babesy.

Iron Fist’s “Lovelace”: A Tale of an Overpriced Shoes

Standard

At the same time I ordered Abbey Dawn’s Dirty Girl from Amazon.de, I also decided to order a pair of Iron Fist’s wedges from the Lovelace series. Now if you’ve been stalking Iron Fist’s shoe designs like me, you might notice that their design is pretty hardcore and creepy in a cute way. Mismatching, non-symmetrical prints on each shoe and full design that give the shoes a life. Now if you’re me, you might also think that Iron Fist, while really interesting, is not a style that you’d usually wear. Therefore you’d spent most of your time stalking Iron Fist shoes and not buying it.

That’s until I found this Iron Fist Lovelace Wedges* being sold in Amazon for EUR 99.99. It’s expensive. Really, really expensive and seriously outside of my normal shoes budget. But hey, ever since I bought my Coralie DUO boots, I decided to calm my boobs and ordered the shoes.
